Here we are, celebrating our last night together. After the tour during the day, Kari and I will be eating and running to catch our plane home. Merri and Kari leave the next day.

We started our morning in the "upper room", the area where Jesus shared His Last Supper with his disciples. Tradition has it that this house belonged to Joseph of Arimathea.

Next stop, the Wailing Wall. To the left of Cari is the gate. We had to go through security much like you do at the airport to get to where the wall is.

Here we are at the wall. There are two specific sides. . . one for men (they had to wear a covering) and one for women. You can see people praying behind us. To pray at the wailing wall was very moving for me.

Next stop was the western wall tunnels. They were fascinating . . . lot's of original work.

We saw the intricate etchings on the wall, as well as the remains of the East gate, aquaducts, cisterns and a large pool still there from Herod's time. It was not for the claustrophobic!

By this time we were getting tired so we decided to take a break on King Solomon's steps. Notice that they are not even. This was on purpose so people had to think where they were when they entered the temple, and begin to ready their hearts.

While Neal is busy attending the opening of the Bethel Wellness center by eating carrots and apples, Beth is craving the junk food in Israel. Some things will never change!

These are the steps outside the house of the High Priest Caiaphus that Jesus would have walked up from the Mount of Olives on the night he was tried, convicted and beaten.

This is what our guide believed to be where Jesus was crucified, "the place of the skull." Very sobering.

Here is the entrance to a rich man's tomb near the crucifixion site, thought by many to be where Jesus was laid. WIll he be in there?

Nope! To celebrate, we partook of the Lord's Supper in the gardens there. Jesus went home,and now it is time for us to go home (to Minnesota that is!) He is risen indeed!

For the Jewish people, their day starts at our suppertime. So our actual last supper all together was the evening before Kari and I were scheduled to leave. This day was a sobering one, yet ended in celebration. Three guesses where we ended our incredible tour of the Holy Land. HInt: He is risen! Come see for yourself!
