Cari, me(Beth), Kari and Merri at the Mount of Beatitudes. . . the Sea of Galilee is behind us.

Everyone knows that starting the day out with a good breakfast is important. We started ours with cheesecake. . . the breakfast of champions!

From the hotel we went to the excavated city of Dan. On the left, where there is a square, would sit the King (Jeroboam sat there at one time) To the right of the throne is a long bench for his advisors to sit.

This is where they would initiate the animal sacrifices. The animal would be sacrificed on the rocks, and the blood would flow down, making a pool below. Then the bloodless animal would be burned on a different altar.

The river Jordan begins as a spring/stream in 3 places. Ceasarea Phillipi is one of them.

Peter's mother-in-laws house in Capernaum, where Jesus slept often. One of the first gatherings of Christians happened in the circle you see.

The first house excavated in Bethsaida, where Jesus, healed a blind man, was a. . . .

A winemakers house! How do they know? They found jugs of wine. . . preserved! I wonder if it tasted any good?

What could be better than ending the day cruising on the Sea of Galilee?

Dancing on the Sea of Galilee! (I know they look like they are praying, but they are not:)!

When we got back to the hotel, Merri still had energy. Not to be outdone, I let her drag me to the pool, where we swam at sunset with a view of Galilee. What a day! Thanks for coming along!

Today, among other things, we stood on the Mount of Beatitudes and got to see where Jesus taught the multitude. After driving along the borders of Lebanon and Syria, Jesus saying "Blessed be the peacemakers" took on a whole new meaning! There are things I saw today I never imagined I would see. Come learn with us! Shalom!!!!
